Dear All,

What questions come to your mind if you were to interview a candidate with mid-level PM experience in the construction industry? Given the fact, the candidate does not possess any PM certifications. To name a few

How do you measure project performance?
Forecast determination

My standard PM interview question would apply regardless of the domain: "What was your biggest project failure, what did you learn from it, and how have you applied that learning?"

A question you may ask is: Talk about one difficult situation you have experienced managing a project, and how you overcame the problem to attain the objectives.

So it's all about checking the candidate's real-time experience rather than theoretical knowledge. But, if the candidate is a fresher or lower level, then this question may be conditional

So it's all about checking the candidate's real-time experience rather than theoretical knowledge. But, if the candidate is a fresher or lower level, then this question may be conditional

In my personal case I am in charge to interview people that applied for program/project manager positions. My questions are always situational questions based on my current work place program/project management defined process that, by the way, I was part of the group that have defined them. So, in my personal experience along the years, what worked for me is making situational questions in the framework of our defined process to understand how the candidate behave in similar situations. In this way, the onboarding process is shortest.
