Does PRINCE2 certification count as PDUs for PMP re-cert?
David MorganProject Manager| Experian PLCGrantham, United Kingdom
Probably a daft question, but is PRINCE2 training an eligible entry for training PDU's to renew PMP certification?
I know there is much debate on the two qualifications, and the consensus seems to be that whilst two totally different things, the PRINCE2 framework is (or can be) compatible with PMI teachings.
Fallen behind with registering my PDUs and wondered if I could include this?
Anyone know?
Thanks

I'm afraid I don't have a definitive answer, but I don't see why not. It's project management education, after all. Even if your PRINCE2 training wasn't with a R.E.P I think it would count as an 'educational program by an outside provider' as detailed in this list on the PMI website. Saving Changes...

Yes PRINCE2 course, in fact any project management related training would count for PDUs under category of continuing education. This can even include seminars and workshops organised and run within your company.

If you PRINCE2 course was run by a REP it would make registration much easier, although there are very few PRINCE2 ATO's who are also REPs Saving Changes...
