Any luck on this? I'd point you to an industry like construction and some of the case studies using lean and pre-fabrication. Perhaps some of that can be applied to your thesis. Perhaps Kanban is an option, it seems to be the most flexible of the Agile methods for use in a wide variety of applications. Saving Changes...
It's great to think about Agile out of IT , Teleco and all technology related industries. I have over 5 years working experiences in Oil & Gas refinery in South Pars Zone and also over 7 years in Telecommunication ( MTN Irancell) , so have a view about Petroleum and Agile (e.g Scrum ) as a well known IT project management discipline .
I suggest to evaluate the advantage and disadvantage of adapting Agile to improve the success rate of petroleum projects as it mayn't be suitable to implementing Agile in petroleum. The number of changes in petroleum is not too high while the main purpose of initiating Agile project management was to fulfill high number of changes in such environment quickly. anyway ,traditional project management can be enhanced by something totally new in your thesis by root cause analysis of issue and constrains.

You will not find about that for a simple thing: agile project management does not exists at all. What exists is project management following some guide (PMBOK for example) that you will use inside an environement or approach: agile, lean, etc. If you like to understand what agile really is search for USA DoD NSF/Agility Forum (1990, I was part) deliverables or Mr, Rick Dove“s work "Response Ability". Maybe this eBook will help you a bit. Though the title refers to what PM methodology to choose for creative departments, actually here you will find general information about traditional Waterfall, Agile and the derivatives of Agile, like Lean, Kanban or Scrum. It also separately describes the advantages and disadvantages of each method. http://bit.ly/2biE3ZV Saving Changes...
