Hi All,
I'm writing my PMP exam on the 15th of April and have started studying the PMBOK 6. I have the online copy of the book and finding it difficult to remember information without being able to mark key areas on the book to review.
Are there any suggestions to better grasp the key areas of the book?
Also, are there more effective study methods and material out there to be able to pass the exam?

Exam questions are situational questions then to remember the PMBOK will not help you. The key document to understand how to study for the exam is the Context Outline.

As Sergio has indicated, the PMBOK Guide is not the sole reference for the PMP exam. You'd be better off either using a self-study guide or take a PMP prep course in conjunction with lots of good quality practice exams.

I agree with my fellow colleagues here. You need to understand the key areas, then you won’t have trouble making sense of the exam situational questions. I don’t advise you to learn anything by heart.

I recommend Rita Mulcahy's certification prep, it's a good option to start acquiring PM Knowledge, and is updated to the 2021 exam. Visit this link:

There's also a good book on oreilly.com call "Head First PMP, 4th Edition" I used this after reviewing PMBOK and Mulcahy; it puts everything into an easy to learn format and really helped out.

I agree with Ms. Ruiz. Rita Mulcahy's book is a great resource. I took an online course that went along with that book. Studying for the PMP by reading PMBOK would be like trying to learn English by reading a dictionary.

PMBOK V.6 are only guideline. To read all details just for overview understanding but it can't pass exam. I'm also fail my first exam because this year 2021 the exam are change from Predictive Process to more Agile Process. Many Guru expert suggested me do more exercise from prep-exam till sure that we are exactly understand PMP concept with PMI Hat before next exam.

For the exam I would recommend the Headfirst PMP book. Take the practice tests and end of chapter quizzes. For some concepts I recommend short YouTube videos for example - Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, Tuckman ladder. Do not turn a blind eye to the PMBOK. For ITTOs, try using mind-maps to recreate them. At the end of the day there are several sources on the internet. So DO NOT go fishing for new resources.
