From what I can tell, the Google Project Management certificate more closely resembles CSM in the sense that you take a class and get a certificate. No experience required.

But to be honest, I do not know if something change and why Google is offering the certification. If you ask me, I prefer do not subscribe to something project management because that do not exist as a concept.

The Google project management certificate is not in competition with the PMP. It's a training program for those with no project management experience, and you can earn a certificate of completion, not a professional certification.
Google states that they are a member of PMI's authorized training partner program, that PMI helped develop the curriculum, and that completing their project management program will meet the 100 hour training requirements to sit for the CAPM.
I see no reason for someone who holds a PMI certification to take the course, unless you already have a Coursera subscription ($39/month) and need some PDUs. Saving Changes...

This certificate might be acceptable as training hours for the education prerequisites of the PMP credential, but you'd still need the experience months as well.
