Hi everyone, I hope you're all having a good weekend. I wanted to seek out some advice on test taking, full transparency I get pressure whenever I'm timed and if I'm being candid I get caught up in analysis paralysis as by nature I'm a conceptual learner.

I've completed my capm prep course and have been doing PMP practice tests as capm tests are difficult to find, I'm also doing a capm cram session online. I'm not performing as high as I'd like and frankly I feel I need to change something in my approach

Do you have any study tips or resources you could suggest, I'm struggling with ITTO's and do you know of any practice tests that are based on the 7th edition as the ones I have are 6th edition

Thank you in advance.

Go through the entire exam quickly first answering only the questions you are certain about, and flag for follow-up each question where you are not completely sure of the answer on your first pass. Then you can score some early confidence by answering many of the questions where you are certain.

Then you can go back through and work the questions where you might have been unsure between a couple answers, or have to do some math that could slow you down.

You don't want to run out of time to answer easy questions by getting stuck trying to figure out the harder ones.
I used to have test anxiety so I can advise a few tips that have helped me.

1) Prepare in advance - give yourself one simulated exam in the same environment as the test would be (as close as possible). You want to be comfortable taking the exam in the format needed and within the time. I find once is sufficient if you score well and prepared ahead of time but some people find it helpful to do this a few times.

2) Make a plan for studying - how much, when, what speed. You don't want to overwhelm yourself with information but at the same time you don't want to drag it out so long you forget.

3) Stop all studying the night before. Last minute cramming does really little. If you want to review a few formulas on an index card that's fine but trying to cram before the exam will just stress you out and lead you to second guess yourself.

4) Sleep the night before. Don't stay up late, make sure to eat and drink coffee before the exam and be well hydrated. (Skipping breakfast is not a good idea)

5) Before you go in - focus completely on your breathing. If you're in a testing center try to tune out the other people, background noise, whatever is going on. Count your breaths.

6) As the test starts, take a deep breath - try to answer every question as you go through then go back at least ONCE through every answer before you submit.

Good luck!
