What are the Top 10 Challenges Project Managers are facing today in 2021?

What do you folks, what is the latest challenges you are facing now that we are all remote and trying to run our projects, our organizations? Thoughts?

I don't think the primary challenges have changed all that much - delivering the project on budget, on time and compliant with the defined need (quality, defined as client satisfaction). What has changed is the integration/collaboration risk profile. There is a much greater risk of project failure due to lack of integration resulting from the team being at arms' length. Lack of integration means duplications, errors, misunderstandings, delays, demotivation, etc. all of which have an adverse impact of project performance.

The challenge is to identify and develop measures to mitigate - be it virtual meetings, more emails, phone calls, electronic dashboards, clear task definitions, better defined roles and responsibilities.

I believe that integration has always been at the top of the challenge list, the only difference now is in the response to that challenge.

Yes, Omar, totally agree, communications continues to play a huge role in project success and therefore a challenge in our projects. Spot on!

Communication, internal and external, specially when there is an urgent issue to be solve, stakeholder management, and deployment of international staff.
Totally agree Ahmad, interesting how communications comes up over and over and over.
