9.4.2.5 Recognition and Rewards [Develop Team]...

This is a tool/technique in the Develop Team process but it says the recognition decisions are made during the process of managing team. So, why is this not a t/t in the Managing Team?

I would assume it is because R&R is more closely related to developing a high-performing team rather than the ongoing activity of monitoring/managing a team.

That´s because there is no tool and technique, generally speaking. All related to it must be aligned with company rules but if there is no rule in place (for example the company do not have a policy about that) the project manager should find something to do that.

good point. The whole T&T is dispersed over the 3 processes of planning, developing and managing the team - confusing.

I would say the idea is you are planning for recognition and rewards while the team is developed, as you find out what would be appropriate and useful for the warm bodies (in contrast to the roles you plan for) you have on the team.
In managing you just make the specific decisions whom to reward.
