How a non Gaming Industry Project Manager can enter into Gaming Industry ?

I am currently working as Executive Engineer and Project Manager in my current position. Here I have to manage projects which falls under my office's Supervision as well and i am sole responsible for projects. along with the Executive position in my office to deal with staff and other documentations. i want to get a job as project manager in a gaming industry. but i am very confused about it, although i have executed multi-million projects and successfully completed it, but when it comes to gaming industry with all my skills and experience, it unknown to me that whether my experience would count as portfolio in terms of gaming industry?
