Just passed the CAPM certification on April 9th. I am looking for an opportunity to utilize the certification to obtain experience. All suggestions are welcome.

Chana -

Have you joined your local PMI chapter and approached their folks about any volunteer roles where you could use the knowledge you've gained?

Congrats. I recommend you look for a project coordinator role where you can utilize what you've learned and gain experience as you will be exposed to the various aspects of a project in this role.

Good Luck.

Hi Chana, are you currently working on your PMP certification? Did you find it helpful to pass the CAPM exam for confidence? I am planning for CAPM certification ahead of PMP - I wonder if this is a good strategy? Any thoughts? Pros and Cons? Would anyone on the forum say that going for PMP, skipping CAPM, is "optimal"?

Hi Roksolana, I got my CAPM certification a few years ago and am now starting to prepare for the PMP. I am taking Joseph Phillps' Udemy course (I also used his CAPM prep course) and am finding it to be mostly review, so in that sense I think having a strong foundation with the CAPM is helping me prepare of PMP. Another benefit as a CAPM holder, is that you do NOT need the 35 contact hours of education to apply for the PMP. For current CAPM's, that requirement is waived.

These are all good suggestions.
I have achieved the CAPM certification, as well.
