Paphatpisit,
this question is very relevant to me and I thought about it since remote working became the norm.
My view is that we can use the models, techniques and tools for team building that we know since years, but often not applied consequently since face to face enabled us reach the same goals with our attitudes and traits, without often thinking a lot about it.
And also new tools can be applied, like online analysis of team communications and collaboration (see e.g. perflo) or like employing gaming in teaming (see e.g. octalysis).
In any case, a focus on human relationships and how to nurture and influence them becomes more important. Working on your emotional intelligence, your self-awareness, self-control, empathy and influencing skills is a means to develop yourself in a remote team builder.
Some practical ideas I tried:
- select team members according to their personality to create a diverse team encompassing all human traits. I use the HUMM model for this. Do not hire for skills but for attitude.
- establish pairs of people, borrowed from XP, pair programming that exhibit different attitudes (e.g a bean counter and an artist).
- as a leader, establish 1:1 with each of the members, regularily, discuss about their personal situation and try to help them with it
- understand the role of values and ethics as a base for trust and teaming, establish a team charter
Hope this helps as a start

Sorry in advance if I did not understand your question but I have to say that in the same way you build a team without Covid-19. I am working with highly distributed around the world teams from 30 years ago. Nothing new below the sun at least for me. But the same when you do not have a virtual team. Saving Changes...
