My application for PMI-PBA certification exam is approved. And I have 365 days to prepare for the exam. However I have followed the course with the one who is PBA certified but still I am worried about the course, If any one could share his experience whether is it tough as PMP? Or it is easier than that. And please guide me for any further course or materials that I can study that it would make the exam easy to pass it in my first attempt? Saving Changes...

Thank you so much for the provided information, this was very helpful.
However, I searched it in Udmey but I did not find John Sipin videos but I have found this (https://www.udemy.com/course/pmi_pba-prepa...e-_in-english/) instead of John Sipin videos. If you could let me know about the above link whether, is that a course (instructor) mentioned by you? or this is a different one.
Also, It took more than 8 months for my PMP preparation. Considering my PMP exam duration, how much time would it take to be well prepared for PBA exam?
Thanks again,
I have gone through all the information you provided and it helps me a lot
Hello,
i also have my PMI-PBA application approved. Just finished studying for the exam and feeling the same, worried. My expectation is it won't be much different from the CBAP exam i took some years ago. Although it has similarities, different terminology is causing me anxiety. I've decided to buy test exams online. Hopefully doing these will help me prepare myself to pass the exam in first attempt.
There are videos (webinars) about the subject on the knowledge area and on youtube. Found 4 online exam providers, different price range.

Hello Tiago Romao,
at first i was thinking this will be much easier then PMP certification, but now understand that is not easier then PMP, it need lot of of time to pass the exam, hopefully we both pass it on first attempt.

You're welcome. The link you provided doesn't work but I can confirm that the course I've taken was discontinued, however, I am sure you can find many other similar courses.
As for the study time, this is something I can't really advise on as it totally depends on you but I would say at least 3 months of preparation as a minimum.

I am not sure if you have taken the exam or not since the post was around 2 months ago, however; I have recently earned the PMI-PBA certificate (09-July-2021) and I hope the below can help you if you have not already earned it:
- I took a physical course of 35 hours, however; it was very long before I actually took the exam so it only helped me to get familiar with the terminologies.
My main source of information was the below two books recommended by PMI:
1. The PMI Guide to Business Analysis.
2. Business Analysis for Practitioners (A practice guide).
I went through the books around 2 times in a 2 months period. I have a full time job so I used to study after my working hours almost daily and I used to spend more time during the weekends. The first book is more detailed and I advise you to start with it. However; I found that studying “Requirements Elicitation and Analysis” from book 2 first was more helpful (Chapter 4). Specially when it comes to requirements modeling, the way the models are structured in book 2 is based on their different categories, which provides an easier way to understand and remember the different models.
The second time I went through the books was in parallel. In book 1, there are usually references to relevant chapters from book 2, so I used to go through the referenced sections and later covered the sections which were not referenced.
I did not read from any other books, sometimes, when I found a term or a specific subject hard to understand, I used to google and try to gain more understanding from other online resources, however; this happened very few times, I found the 2 books more than enough.
- For practice tests, I subscribed for one month in watermark learning practice tests. The questions are not similar to what I got in the exam, they were very different, however; they can set your expectations to how the exam will be like in terms of the number of questions and the time it will take you to finish. I found them very helpful as well in shedding light on areas where more reading or studying was required. You will get an overall score and a score per knowledge area which I found very helpful. The maximum score I got for a full exam simulation was 90% (not from the first time for sure).
- I read some posts on forums about other people experiences regarding the exams, different people mentioned different types of questions that the exam focused on and their level of complexity, which to be honest made me more nervous. However; I found my experience totally different from others’. So I would advise you to focus on studying the books and not to get intimidated by such posts.
- I got above target in all the knowledge areas and I wish you best of luck in case you have not passed the exam already :) Saving Changes...
