What should be included in a dashboard for an Agile Projects Program?

We are newies in the agile world. And we recently got the approval needed to start an Agile projects program. On the one hand, we would like to agreggate some data to track the performance of the whole program. On the other hand, we have noticed that velocity itself would not be a not a good metric for agile projects comparisson.
So what do you think about this dilemma? And more important, how do you track the progress of agile projects within a program? what metrics do you use?
