I got my CAPM about 2 months ago and finally started to apply to jobs in the hopes of starting a real career, but to my surprise not one employer cares that I have this achievement. I have sent out around 100 applications and I have had no contacts for interviews, I have either been ignored or had my application marked as not selected. So I guess my real question is did I waste my time, money and effort to get this certification or is it that job posters only do a quick Google search and only find PMP as a project management certification? no! a good suggestion might be to refer to your education and employment background; personal interests can be an avenue to entry-level job prospects. Saving Changes...

I'm currently working on collecting my CAPM via my workplace training.
It may have already been addressed, but it may depend on the positions you are looking to join. For a fairly entry level- like mine-, the CAPM is considered above expectations. I am using it as a step up to the next career level, and then will work on my PMP.
Remember- any certification you acquire is an investment in yourself. Your car, home, or any possessions will eventually devalue. Your knowledge and certifications will not.
Best of luck! Saving Changes...

CAPM is a good certificate, however the PMP is definitely more well known. As far as 100 applications and no call backs, make sure you are using ATS appropriate keywords to describe your experience. Also your application should be tailored to each description. ATS push so many good applicates out since they are not working within the current hiring methods. Saving Changes...
Greetings Brian. In the event you are still looking for feedback here is my opinion. I feel all of the above is sound advice. I earned a CAPM several years ago. In my search for employment and within the professional networks that I have connected with, it seems to help if you know someone who works for the company you're applying to. Also, industry specific certifications, i.e.a certification in accounting for an actuarial company, reinforces your fit for the role you are applying to. Saving Changes...
