Good morning/ afternoon,

I am over half way through a doctoral program and currently starting the first semester in which I need to defend my prospectus to start actively researching my topic, winning work.

I am in search of any documents that pertain to the proposal development process in an effort to determine whether or not the organization targeted for research is properly aligned with their intent to win work. The two theories I'm working off is Grice's four maxims of communication as well as the PMI's framework regarding communication.

I've reviewed the peer reviewed or literature published in the PMI.org site, but I only found one useful document that pertains to visuals which can be applied to the development of a project proposal.

If any of you are interested in conferring or perhaps playing the part of a respondent in my research, please reach out... particularly if you've drawn proposals for work or if you review them as an aspect to the work you are in.

Basically, it is my intent to demonstrate to the firm (which I am keeping confidential for propriety reasons) that their processes can be updated/ modified to ensure that each proposal gets submitted has its best foot forward, if that makes sense.

Allan,

did you have a look at the Procurement part of PMBoK ed6? It gives a comprehensive (US-centric) view on the proposal process. There is also a newly written 'Business project management' book by PMI members (not an official PMI output) which tries to get hold on the topic.

Having worked for IBM clients more than 30 years, my professional life was full of proposals and IBM certainly had and has a comprehensive proposal process, templates and metrics. Confidential or course, as I assume most are.

Happy to discuss your results, contact me if you want, I am also on LinkedIn.
