I have multiple sclerosis. I have been living with this disease for 23 years. Yes, it is challenging. I refuse to let it win. Saving Changes...

Nicole, I have Parkinson's which I have lived with for about 15 years. I agree it's challenging, but keep doing all you can do. I covered it up for as long as I felt I could, then spoke with my boss once it was likely to be noticed by others. They made some accommodations in flex work and teleworking sometimes. Meds are hit and miss, but thank God they enable me to work most of the time. Be a light and example for others. The increasing teleworking possibilities are a big help! Saving Changes...
Thank you so much for sharing with me! I wasn't sure if I would have my post deleted. I feel I needed to put it out there. I had to tell my boss right away. I was hesitant but I needed to make sure my health insurance would start ASAP!! I was in a much earlier stage with my illness. It was invisible at first, but as I got older my symptoms were visible. When that started to happen I was always asked " Did you fall?, Feel better, I'm so sorry", etc etc. This of course made me very self conscious. I have also been on numerous DMT's. I need to switch when it's no longer serving me well. I feel better knowing that I'm not alone. I am on a mission to make disabilities more accepted. People shouldn't feel left out or looked down upon. I also would like there to be chapters of PMI members who have a disability.
I am unemployed ATM. I lost my job due to COVID 19 and a reduction in workforce. I need to work remotely. It's safer for me both mentally and physically. I am prepared to fight for it.
