I am just reaching out to get any feedback on the Agile Hybrid Project Pro (AHPP) certification. What are some thoughts of the content offered by PMI that you learn on your own? Is this a certification that is well recognized? It seems like it is going along with the current trends of the industry and the latest PMBOK. Thanks in advance everyone!

Can you please suggest resources that will help me pass the exam? I am about to start the course on PMI website and I strongly feel having additional resources and simulation questions would help me understand the course better and also pass the exam
Sorry for my late response. The exam is a mini PMP so you will need to study any good PMP material you have (I recommend Joseph Phillips' PMP Exam Prep Seminar 2021 plus the Agile Manifesto). You will also need to have an open mindset that understands that in reality most IT projects could be a combination of Agile & Waterfall.

Is there any further experience on this topic?
Honestly speaking I am not too happy with the course. My goal was to learn more about agile and hybrid approaches and the course itself did the job just partly. The question in the quiz (which I assume are similar to the exam) are not really feasible based on the content of the course. The content of the quiz was what I was expecting from the course.

Now since I have spent a couple of hours on the topic I am wondering if I should just take the 13PDUs for my recertification and move on or invest some more hours in passing the micro-credential exam. Since I am not working in SW-industry I believe it would take some effort to reach good shape for passing the exam.

By the way, what are the passing requirements? How many questions?

Do you believe it makes sense to read a whole book just for passing the exam?

You definitely need a bit of an Agile experience to go through the test. If I were you, I would invest a few more hours and do the test as it is part of the price you already paid and at the end, it is a learning experience. I would read Mike Griffith's book: PMI-ACP Exam Prep, it is an amazing book and covers all Agile topics on a high level.

As for the passing requirements, PMI does not disclose such information so you will only receive a pass or fail score.

Good Luck !

I think about reading the book, because it seems to cover the content which I was originally heading for. If I do the test I'd decide after reading the book.

As far as I have in mind I can claim PDUs for reading the book, too. Is this correct?

I'm sorry to hear this. I think you should try again. But before then you may need to re-examine the new PMP and PMI-ACP prep courses. I'll recommend Joseph Phillips and Andrew Ramdayal 's prep courses respectively. And don't forget to browse through the agile manifesto

If it’s a PM related book, then yes you can claim it under education. 1 PDU for every Hour.

I strongly hope that your recommended book is PM related ;-)

Has anybody experience in assigning this kind of PDUs to the talent triangle?

Beside that I am still a bit confused that it somehow seems necessary to read a prep guide for the PMI-ACP to pass the AHPP exam. I will report about my progress ...

Matthias

I did recommend Mike Griffith’s PMI-ACP exam prep book which to date, I still refer to it. Excellent resource and it is PM related so you can claim the hours. I’ve read lots of Agile related books but yet, I found this to be the best as it covers most aspects of agile.

Claiming the hours in the triangle is based on your best judgement.

It is not necessary to read an exam prep guide to pass the AHPP, it was a suggestion For me, the course was more than enough as I have many years of agile experience. If you have experience and knowledge about Agile, then the course should suffice but if not, then you can supplement the course with extra reading.

On thing worth noting is the fact that even though those are micro-credentials, and their exams are non-proctored, it doesn’t mean they are easy to pass otherwise they will lose their credibility.
