Hello,
I am studying to sit for the PMP Certification. Can anyone confirm if you must have a certain amount of years of the job title, project manager before applying for the exam?

You don't need to hold a specific title to support your application. The work you did is what matters regardless of what your formal title was.

Job title itself doesn't matter - What matters is that you were doing PM Tasks (i.e. Doing actual project management activities)

Thank you for your response. How is this information verified? Do I just enter the work I have done on projects in my roles?

What kind of projects are required? Also, I have a masters degree, does that mean my hours required would be 24 months instead of 60?

Danielle,

I confirmed the information provided by Kiron & Rami, but you must consider that you want at least 36 months of experience in projects execution to pass this step in application procedures.

If your Master's degree was obtained in a PM focused program in a GAC school, you would only need 24 month experience leading and directing projects.

It will be verified by the company(-ies) which you did the projects under its name.

In the event that your application does get audited, for your education proof you'd submit things like proof of completion, course agendas and so on. For experience, you might have to submit examples of the artifacts created on the projects and they'd want to contact references (e.g. sponsor, team member) to corroborate what you'd provided in the application.

The certification FAQ (https://www.pmi.org/certifications/certification-resources/faq) provides details about the audit process.
