Cert recommendations?

I have my PMP, worked as a full time PM for 5 years in the nonprofit and government sectors. I do good work. It's time for the next step, and I'm thinking an additional cert would bolster my resume and career options. But, I'm not sure which certs are the best option. A NASA recruiter (and some NASA contractors) contacted me about some openings. What can I do to improve my visibility? I've really only worked in testing and IT, but a project is a project and I'd like to branch out. And landing a job at NASA would be... just fine with me.

Thank you for your input and advice!

If you are targeting a specific role, you might want to find out the normal prerequisite expectations for those already in that role and focus your development efforts there. This could be achieved by earning a credential or might just require you to have some hands-on experience in a specific domain.

A couple of options for further learning are:

- Program/portfolio management
- Adaptive approaches (assuming you weren't already using those in your prior work)

I agree with Kiron's feedback but to complement what you already have, I would suggest you go for an Agile related credential and highly recommend PMI-ACP.

Most organizations these days operate in an agile or hybrid environment.

Hello Christopher
yes, i would go for the PMI ACP, or PMI PBA, depending of your role and organization characteristics. PgMP would also be an option although the PMI requisites demands years of experience. PRINCE2 would also be a good option, since it complements PMP.

Good recommendations but instead of PMI-PBA, I highly recommend CBAP first from IIBA as a choice for a first business analysis credential.

You should analyze the best certification to pursuit according to the specific needs of the role you want to perform in an organization.
