New CPBEP Certification - No prerequisites needed?
James DunnProject Manager| Acres EnterprisesKamloops, British Columbia, Canada
The new Construction Professional in Built Environment Projects (CPBEP) does not seem to require any sort of previous experience. Although it is not 'fully' offered yet. I see 6 of 7 courses available so far (No final exam possibility yet). So perhaps there will be? Does anyone know?
Seems strange that the PMI-ACP requires :
- Secondary degree
- 21 contact hours of training in agile practices
-12 months of general project experience within the last 5 years. A current PMP® or PgMP® will satisfy this requirement but is not required to apply for the PMI-ACP.
-8 months of agile project experience within the last 3 years
And the CPBEP would require nothing?
Either way I am excited to start that journey just seems strange is all. Saving Changes...

As far as I am aware, the requirements for the CPBEP are still being finalize by PMI Team and will be available in the near future. There will be experience requirements, as well as an exam.
Stay tuned.

Hey Rami. I was just thinking... do you have any thoughts or ideas as to how this certification will compare in relation to the CCA Gold Seal in PM (as we are based in Canada)?
I am also interested in CPBEP. From what I have read in the courses that includes micro certification, experience is not necessary, although they do recommend that you have it.
Of the 7 courses, 3 will include micro certification, and at the end of the 7 courses, there will be a general exam to obtain the full certification. Much information is still missing regarding that certification.

I only have high level info on the CCA Gold Seal but I know they are both different. The best way I can put it for you is that CPBEP is the PMP for Construction Professionals.
