However, before using either of these or any other examples, you'd want to meet with the portfolio governance leaders to understand what criteria are meaningful to them and what the relative importance of each is.

Depending on the industry you are in and the nature of the projects, different criteria will apply. For example, a public sector firm might not include revenue or profit as a criterion while a for-profit firm would.
