In the PMP Study Guide by
I noticed in Table 13-1 Project Management Process Group and Knowledge Area Mapping, tthe Project Integration Management starts on Number 4.

4. Project Integration Management

I was wondering why it starts on 4 and not 1?
What happened to knowledge areas 1 through 3

That is referring to the chapter in the PMBOK Guide, Sixth Edition. Section 1-3 don't cover knowledge areas.

Chapters 1-3 refer to: The Introduction, the environment in which projects operate, and The Project Director role. The information about knowledge areas and process groups starts in chapter 4, with Project Integration Management.
