Let's Say We have chat on LinkedIn, Facebook where we can create groups and instantly discuss or connect but I doubt somebody even logins to this platform.

Can someone help me, am I missing something?

I don't know how you came to the conclusion that lead to: "I doubt somebody even logins to this platform" but I can assure you that this is not true.

Different people have different needs: Some participate in webinars, discussions, blogs, articles and so on.

As for networking on this platform, I wrote a blog earlier that reflects how important and beneficial it is so take some time to read it and it will hopefully help answer some of your questions. Here is the link:

I log in almost daily and leave my thoughts on questions like yours, Arif. It is fun for me and sometimes I get a thank you.
I also add people to my network here and more than once have been contacted for help.

I see this network as specific to PM, LinkedIn has a broader scope and also too much advertisement. But a wider reach.

Facebook is not for business in my view.

Arif -

It's a question of volume & quality. I have yet to find a LinkedIn discussion group on project management which has the quality and quantity of discussions that we see here. I've also had a number of folks connect with me in this community who needed short-term mentoring support - that has also not been the case with other platforms.

I have found a great quantity of Project Management specialized professionals that give valuable comments and contributions on this specialized platform.

I generally don't accept invitations to connect on LinkedIn, if I haven't had at least a little interaction with someone. I won't accept invitations to connect on FaceBook if I don't know or like you [unless you're family ;-) ]. I am more likely to accept an invitation from someone on LinkedIn that I have interacted with or can see their activity on projectmanagement.com.

I enjoy the camaraderie and diversity of this community. It is also much less 'in your face' that typical social media platforms.
