how the calculation of the PTA (Point of Total Assumption) is done

Target Cost + (Ceiling Price - Target Price)/Buyers Share Ratio

It's really the target cost, plus the maximum cost overrun payable by buyer. The Ceiling Price - Target price is the maximum overrun, and the buyer's ratio is how much of that is payable by the buyer.
