How many projects should the project manager have under the responsibility of the project manager so that the project managers can carry out effective project management? Does it depend on the size of the project when giving this number? Or, even if the project is small, will it not matter because the processes run will be similar for large and small projects?

I find myself using leaner processes for smaller projects. That makes it easier to manage many of them simultaneously. On the other hand, I would rather my projects be at different phases: trying to plan multiple projects at the same time can be demanding.
