I am looking for guidance related to PMP certification. I hold a Masters degree and have worked in IT for 2 years. Am I eligible to apply for PMP certification? Saving Changes...
With a bachelors degree, you would need 36 non-overlapping months of experience leading projects. You'd also need to acquire 35 hours of verifiable project management training.
If you don't meet the experience requirement, you could look at the CAPM certification as a stop gap (if you really need a PM certification) until you have gained sufficient experience.
Thank you for your reply Kiron. I went through the requirements, but I am not sure if that 36 months can be compensated to less months if I have a Masters degree. I will check the link you provided as well. Thank you

Have you checked the PMP certification requirements? You will need 36 months of leading projects and 35 contact hours of project management education.

Yes, I have checked the requirements. I am looking for guidance related to Masters and 2 years experience, but I am unable to find it. I could find details for Bachelors degree, but not for Masters

As far as I know there are only two sets of requirements: one for those who have at least a 4-year degree, and a second for those who don't.
You can't swap education for experience, especially when it comes to being an effective PM so unfortunately, you will have to wait until you have gained sufficient experience to meet the 36 month non-overlapping requirement.

Okay, I have gone through the CAPM certificate requirements and I have the required qualifications. I will do this for now and then proceed with PMP once I have the required experience

I totally agree with Kiron's feedback. Experience is one thing and education is another.
From what you've mentioned, you are probably better off doing your CAPM first. Don't forget that even if you apply for PMP, you might be audited for experience and education verification.

Agree. I will proceed with CAPM and will apply for PMP later. Thank you
Start filling out the application. It's free, and there are no penalties if you can't finish it. The application will expire, but in filling it out, it will help you understand what, if anything, you are lacking.
