I am looking for guidance related to PMP certification. I hold a Masters degree and have worked in IT for 2 years. Am I eligible to apply for PMP certification?

Start filling out the application. It's free, and there are no penalties if you can't finish it. The application will expire, but in filling it out, it will help you understand what, if anything, you are lacking.
Thank you. This is a good option, I will do that

A summary of the requirements is provided by Kiron.
Anyway, you better consult the PMI website for more information.
Will do thank you

I totally agree with Kiron's feedback. Experience is one thing and education is another.

From what you've mentioned, you are probably better off doing your CAPM first. Don't forget that even if you apply for PMP, you might be audited for experience and education verification.

Agree. I will proceed with CAPM and will apply for PMP later. Thank you

As far as I know there are only two sets of requirements: one for those who have at least a 4-year degree, and a second for those who don't.
Yes, I have gone through the CAPM certificate requirements and decided to pursue it. I will do this for now and then proceed with PMP once I have the required experience. Thank you

This is the path I took. CAPM first, this helped me secure a PM role within my company. Then, once I had the experience hours, went for PMP. One benefit of this path is that when you are ready to apply for PMP, the 35 hours education requirement is waived (assuming you are still a CAPM holder in good standing when you apply for PMP).

Thank you for the response Ryan. I will first try to finish the CAPM certification and check with my employer on my role in the company and proceed accordingly.
