Expense Reimbursement

Hi All,

I am due to sit the PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) examination. However, I require examination expense reimbursement prior to sitting the examination. In order for this to happen, I am required to lodge a compelling case as to why being PMI-RMP certified would benefit both the employee as well as the employer.

I am an Engineer by title and involved in commercial contract coordination by role, and I understand that being PMI-RMP certified is not directly required in order for me to perform my role.

I would appreciate your invaluable insight into the above matter.

Actually, risk management is quite handy for the development of commercial contracts. Contracts are all about mitigating risks, usually those of the buyer. Think, liability, intellectual property, and competition.

Even as an engineer, you have to understand and manage risks properly. Products are often designed to reduce hazards, which are risks. Do you want your phone to have a risk of bursting into flames? Do you want your pill bottle to have a risk of being opened by a child?

Most of our lives are about managing risks. Is the fact that I'm typing this message after my usual bedtime a risk that I won't be productive tomorrow?
