Renewing - Work as Practitioner PDU

I'm coming up on my first renewal this summer. When does it make sense to claim the Work credit? It says 8PDUs is for working the full 3 years, but I'd like to submit my renewal request a couple months before deadline so there's no risk of missing it. If I wait until I've actually completed 3 years, that's at the deadline.
Should I submit the 8 PDUs for Work as Practitioner once I get within 3 months before renewal deadline?

Amy -

I've never had issues with submitting it months in advance of a renewal deadline. Many years ago you could claim much more than just 8 PDUs so I think as long as you are in a PM-oriented role, that will pass the reasonableness test.

This has been the missing part in the CCR handbook. There is nothing that says you have to prorate the 8 PDUs over the 3 year period. Given that you get 1 PDU for a one-hour webinar, it's fair to say that 8 hours of practical project management is sufficient to claim the 8 PDUs.

Go ahead and submit your claim, Amy.

Thanks for the quick responses. The info (i) popup on the submit PDUs page says that if you've worked half the period to enter 4 PDUs, but I'm likely overthinking this for my situation with continuous employment as PM.

Hi Amy,
I usually submit 3 PDU's for each of the first 2 years of the cycle and then submit 2PDU's for the last. The main reason I do so is to be sure I have reached my annual 20 point target. Don't know if that helps you or not.

Thanks, that is good to know as well. I was hesitating that if I submitted a partial it might reject another entry since only 'one per period' allowed. Good to know that has worked for you!

If you are submitting few months in advance and you worked for all the previous period in a PM oriented role then you should be fine. I don't think you will have any issues.
