I have worked with TUV SUD closely for ISO9001-2015 certification of my organisation. Even though I was certified QM specialist, I was correlating Portfolio management terms with ISO9001 clauses in last year much.
Governance principles are almost matching; while ISO9001 recommends transactions between elements through PDCA cycle, PfMP presents its with multidimensional through Program, Projects and Operations Knowledge area.
Any suggestions or thought process? Saving Changes...
This feels like an "apples to oranges" comparison. A PfMP credential is an individual certification whereas ISO 9001 applies to a department or entire organization. Also, whereas the former is focused on portfolio management which might include some quality elements, the latter is primarily focused on process quality.

Thanks for the feedback Kiran; Rather than comparing, I try to correlate how is the industry functioning before PMI comes with PfMP 1st edition. The core concept of both is derived from the Deming cycle or PDCA cycle. where ISO 9001 is more suit for ancient industry type while PfMP is getting revolved for MNC type

Both are different things. I have participated in both. No matter that you can map what ISO 9001 stated to your portfolio management process to match both and to pass the ISO 9001 certification.

I agree with Kiron, for the most part they are different and serve different end goals. Having similar terminologies doesn’t mean they are the same.

I agree with you as they are different, but you can not deny that it has interlinked governance principles and process adherence concepts.

No one can deny this because this could be the case with any other certifications - You will always find interlinks in processes.

They are different as Kiron and Sergio mentioned. However, they share some principles and ideas.
