Dear all, I'm doing some research studies and I'd like to get the valuable feedback from this community.

1/ What challenges do you face as a global remote project manager.

2/ What advice would you like to get as a global project manager?

3/ What do you wish you had known before being a global project manager?

thank you

Yasmina

Hi Stephane thank you for confirming something I am convinced about
Today, I learned a new québécois expression: "la passe du cochon qui tousse!" Believe it or not, it's when you distract a person so you can do something nasty to them!

Hopefully the "cochon" was turned into a few oreilles de crisse thereafter, Stéphane!

I remember dealing with a Windows support team, located in Kuala Lumpur. I was touching base with a team lead to get an update on a project activity. That Thursday, the team lead told me they would have the work done "next Friday". I immediately thought he was going to be one week late! After confirming with the lead, I realized he meant "this Friday". Try to avoid relative language when you can. In this case, ask for the exact date.

Actually, that same scenario is quite common in the US and Canada as well. Come to think of it all over the world in all languages.
