You need to maintain all credentials regardless. For example, I have 8 PMI credentials and I have to maintain them all.

To add to Rami's feedback, Justin, there are no cross-certification prerequisites for renewal so if you decided to let your PMP lapse but renewed your PgMP, that would be fine. That might make sense if someone was permanently moving into a portfolio management type role and didn't see the benefits of continuing to maintain their PMP accreditation.

the same PDUs count towards PMP and PgMP, so there is no extra effort in maintaining both.

Also, both serve different audiences and have different reputation on the market, so it adds to your portfolio diversity if you have both.
