When you say DAWIA, are you referring to: Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) ?

The DAWIA certifications, managed by the Defense Acquisition University, are related specifically to DAWIA, the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act.

These certifications are only available to people against DOD acquisition-coded positions. So that means mostly US military, DoD employees and AFP civilians.

DAWIA and its certifications are strictly about acquisition process across functional domains. Acquisition is a very small portion of what is covered under the PMP exam.
