Hi, I am a chartered petroleum engineer with 20 years of working experience in upstream oil and gas, of which I have been actively leading and managing projects as project leader, project manager and team leader for at least 18 years. I have a BEng(Hon), MSc and a MBA, all from the UK. With these in mind, can anyone suggest which PMI certification I am most likely to be qualified for should I make for an application? Thanks.

I would say "PMP". Please consult with the PMI website for more details.

Thierry -

I'd start with the PMP as you seem to have quite a bit more than the required experience for that credential, but then, depending on the scale of the programs you have been involved with and how valuable you feel it might be to your career development, you could consider the PgMP.

I agree with my fellow colleagues, PMP is the best for starters.

I agree with my colleagues that PMP is a great start. Because of your oil and gas background, you may also want to consider PMI-RMP as a follow-up certification.
