Denathayalan -

PMI does provide governance over chapter operations through region leadership, established standard of operation and a fairly thorough vetting process when a new chapter is initiated.

I'd suggest reaching out to the board members of your local chapter to get more insights as to how your specific chapter operates, its bylaws, and so on.

It is really difficult to understand how work something when you are at the outside of this process. The PMI Chapter has many ways for the professionals stay connected and, of course, many ways in which its own work is measured under the perspective of the members - when participating on the Chapter Direction's biannually polls, as well by the PMI Regional Direction, as an example. Thus, participation is essential. All the best in your PM journey, Mr. Ramasamy.

Dear Denathayalan,
I have to recognize that long time ago I had the same questions than you, how PMI ensure that all is managed as expected...

Now I joined a chapter board, and wooow, I can write a book about your question.

I hihgly recomed to reach out your local chapter and ask them direclty those questions, I believe they will be very supportive.

Hi Denathayalan, PMI chapters provide much information to members.
but I agree that depending on the chapters some improvements are needed..that is also why it is important to be a volunteer or/and a board member to contribute to bringing changes.

PMI provides governance and organization for the PMI Chapters, guiding them on the processes and activities that are developed, and giving the best experience to Chapter members.

When I joined my chapter I was immediately put off by the continued cost: Besides the cost to join, there is a cost to attend any meeting, event, etc. (Reduced cost for members)

I am sure there is a benefit? But I have not had time to attend any events yet.
