Hey Jaideep! I suggest you contact international humanitarian organizations such as Red Cross/Crescent, OXFAM, UNICEF, ...

They would have the breadth and depth in their projects to include disaster risk reduction.

Dear Stephane, Thank you very much for replying to me. I am in contact with ICRC, IFRC, Oxfam, etc. should a need arises. I am expert in Disaster risk reduction, but as I got progressive responsibilities at my work places, I slightly moved to PMU unit managing teams, projects and NOT working as technical expert. I STARTED enjoying this a lot. This make me feel good about myself. But now I am struggling to find a suitable position in sustainable development goals sector. My geographical focus is in Canada or in USA. I am humbly requesting you to consider me for suitable position. I can be reached at [email protected]. Thank you in advance. (Sorry for making a request in first e-meeting). Thanks again.

Jaideep,

yes, there are Chapter initiatives working in the social sector. For example the Germany Chapter is constantly looking for volunteers:

PMIEF years ago had a disaster recovery methodology, but it did not launch well. If there is something at PMI global social/humanitarian it could be here:

Dear Thomas,
Thank you for links. It really helps to narrow down my search. I will educate myself about the chapters and will do the needful.

I am happy to inform you that I got selected for PhD in Monitoring and Evaluation at University of North Carolina, USA for fall 2022. I strongly believe that this may help me in PMU as a additional feather on my cap. But, I am waiting for funding for my tuition fees. Thank you.

Project management in the humanitarian sector is a critical process that involves the coordination and management of resources, personnel, and activities to meet the needs of people affected by disasters or crises. This sector includes emergency response to natural disasters, conflicts, and complex emergencies such as pandemics or refugee crises.

Humanitarian project management involves various stages, from the initial assessment and planning phase to the implementation and monitoring of the project.

I deliver training related to business analysis and project management to humanitarian organizations. After that I choached them about to implement it. At the end is the same for other type of organizations: they need to implement solutions to survive, grow and developt.
