Does PMI chapter associate with any universities or NGOs?

Denathayalan -

This is likely to be a chapter-by-chapter decision. There is no mandate from PMI requiring chapters to do this. Many chapters do have community outreach partnerships but I'm not sure of any specific chapters with university connections as there is a certain degree of competition between what the two types of organizations would offer.

Nothing that I am aware of. I agree with Kiron. It may be a local decision.

My thought and feedback is in line with Kiron’s.

From the PMI website i am not getting boundaries; some thoughts were clarified with citizen development projects. And My local chapter is not much active or transparent.. So I am floating relevant questions here.

Overall my expectation is that how to nurture myself (personality development & contributing/maximizing the value to the organization)with help PMI?

It is a decision under the purview of the local chapter. If you mean association in regards to strategic partnerships, then yes it is possible. I can't talk for other chapters but my local chapter has formed strategic partnerships with a couple of local NGOs, professional associations, and two universities thus far. They even formed one with the IDB.

Entailing the local universities as one offers a master' degree program in Project Management while the other( I am currently enrolled in) offers project management from the certificate to Bachelor's level.

Understood, Denathayalan. It's certainly appropriate to check with the PMI Chennai chapter to see what they can offer. You may wish to participate with the chapter's executive to explore learning and growth options for its members.
