Hello Arpit,

Reading any number of books/articles alone will not be sufficient for preparation. I would highly recommend you to join a course where you have an option of interacting with the trainer physically, if not then at-least virtually.

Class-room sessions are always beneficial, as they help the audience understand via different case studies, live examples etc. However, if you are only watching recorded sessions on Udemy, LinkedIn, etc., you won't be able to ask your doubts to them directly.

Depending on where you stay, there will be a nearest PMI chapter who will help you with the required instructor-led trainings. These trainings will help you with the knowledge, exposure and the skills required for the preparation. Additionally, the pre-requisite of PDUs will also be fulfilled.

As I see you are in India, checkout the details about the company ProThoughts, who are really good for PMP preparation.

PS: I don't work for ProThoughts nor I am promoting them. I did my course from them back in Dec 2018, and found them professional and experienced.

Hope this helps. All the best :)

The courses will be useful if your experience is minimal. If, on the other hand, you have lots of project management experience, I would suggest you invest in PMP practice exams. Many training companies, like Udemy, offer them.

You will need some reading material to review and research the questions and answers. While Mulcahy's book is highly recommended, you must make sure that you understand the material as presented in the PMBOK Guides. (You should be using both version 6 and 7 of the PMBOK Guide.)

Rita Mulcahy PMP Exam Prep is highly recommended. Also, you have to attend an online PMP course of 36 PDU (Requisite for the PMP exam). To prepare for completing PMP exam in enough time, practice using a Question Simulator, like the one offered by Rita Mulcahy.

Arpit -

It always comes down to what your baseline of knowledge is. The only way to assess that is to do a quality practice exam. That will reveal which areas you are weakest in and help you decide whether a self-study approach (using a guide such as RMC) or a prep course (on demand or "live") will be best.

But I'd echo Stephane's advice to take multiple practice exams over the course of your studying and get marks in the 80s on those to increase your odds of passing the real exam on the first try.

Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper, which is odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy."
