Hello all
Been a project manager for nearly 10 years and it’s been a while since I did Prince

Are there any desired senior level courses that you know of and would recommend?

Are you looking for PRINCE 2 specific courses or general PM courses? Is there a specific knowledge area within the domain which you feel would be useful to your development needs?

Thanks for the response Kiron

No I’d like to move away from Prince tbh
I have extensive people management
So don’t need that aspect
Maybe something to manage multiple projects from different pms would be of benefit.
Also feel my finance skills could possibly be a bit sharper

Hi Peter

considerations are your target market (UK?, US?, EU?) and your personal preference (no people mgmt).

Have you looked at MSP from Axelos? Managing Successful Programs? Or working towards CHPP from APM?

Think certification only take you a bit along, experience is more important for getting a job and for doing it well, either in one industry (becoming a specialist) or very broad (if you dare to go the generalist pathway.

I recommend to consider doing continuous training, like 3 weeks a year, experimenting with concepts on projects (e.g. Kanban, EVM) and networking in a professional group like PMI, APM, or else like nhsprojectfuturesfestival22.org/. A mentor also is a good idea.

Good luck.

I find the PM.org webinars, along with chapter events, sufficient to refresh and expand my knowledge.

I agree with Stéphane: the way to learn and keep up to date is not only through courses.
if you are not a PMP you can take a certification from PMI
then go to chapter events, volunteer (the best way to reflect on your soft skills), be part of a project management community at your workplace and if there is not any perhaps you can create one.
you can listen to some podcasts: people and projects by Andy Kaufmann is very good.
you can organize regular zoom meetings with peers to talk and exchange.

for financial part of project management, perhaps you can find a course in coursera or EDTEch

you can also read some books: Antonio's latest book or the remote work revolution by Tsedal Neeley.

so many resources.

you need to be deliberate and organized otherwise you can get drowned in all the resources available nowadays!
good luck
