Hi everyone.
Has anyone any opinions on good agile certifications or courses for beginners. I have an understanding of agile from college and want to build on it. I am mainly looking at PMI-DASM and Coursera Scrum Master Certification Specialization (I don't have enough experience for PMI-ACP at the minute).
Any advice? Thanks! Saving Changes...
Both are good choices. I also recommend getting Product Owner training, in addition to Scrum Master training - it rounds out your knowledge of Scrum and will help you facilitate/coach the team better, especially if you work somewhere where Product Owners aren't formally trained.
Not to be a downer, but why pursue a certification if you don't have sufficient practical experience? I'd strongly recommend a NON-certification based course if you feel there's more book knowledge you'd like to gain, and then put some of that into practice before pursuing a cert.

Thank you Kiron. I will look into some more knowledge-orientated resources. It has not occurred to me, but that is a good idea.
Check this site for online agile courses: https://agiletraining.ie/ These help you acquire agile knowledge, and after putting it into practice, you can direct your effort to obtain a certification.

I'm with Kiron on this one: certifications do not replace experience and knowledge. Their purpose is to make your experience and knowledge visible to clients and employers.

I agree Stéphane that a certificate doesn’t always equal knowledge. I think now I am better to gain experience and knowledge and get a certification later down the road.

Hello Cian,
I concur, experience and knowledge will help you in your career.
Courses specific to a certificaiton aim to help you pass that exam. You need to have a good grasp of the concepts beforehand.
I would suggest to go on youtube, there are loads of video on SCRUM (read to scrumguide) and other frameworks. There are even a few introduction to DA as well.
Even here on projectmangement.com you will find webinars that can help you as a beginner.
Regards, Chantal
