Am I missing something? PMBOK® Guide Seventh Edition is $99 here on PMI site, through Amazon it's $38. Will the PMI version give me something in addition to the book? Any reason to buy from PMI?

You can download the password protected PDF version for free if you are a PMI member but hardcopy versions will usually be costlier from PMI's bookstore than from a wholeseller such as Amazon. Assuming it is the same edition and format, no reason to get it from PMI...

In principal, I agree with Kiron. I am just surprised of the great significant difference between both PMI Store and Amazon. Just make sure it is a brand new book, not used, that you are purchasing. I looked at my amazon account and saw two listings: One for $103 CAD and the other for $41 CAD and both look like new books and in this case, of course buy it from Amazon if it is the same exact thing.
Funny enough, but for some apple products like Air Pods, I also buy them from amazon because I find them sometimes 20 to 25% cheaper.
