I am trying to pivot to Project Management. I am recently certified with limited experience. I have invested alot of time and money into this certification, but I cannot find a role. There are organizations willing to help for astronomical prices. If anyone can lead me to resources, that would be great.

Have you been actively networking within a nearby PMI chapter? Also, have you looked at entry level project analyst roles - banks or larger healthcare organizations would tend to have those?

LinkedIn is a good platform - Networking there with industry professional can provide some leads.

Credentials normally will help get you ahead of the line to the interview stage but then your experience is what will speak for the employer and since you have limited experience like you stated, then try looking for entry level positions like Project Coordinator or Associate Project Manager.

Post on Linkedin that you are looking for a job: you can post a text or a short video. then your network can 'like' and 'comment'. It works. Meanwhile have you tried to volunteer in your local PMI Chapter? or a further one? volunteering in projects will help you build confidence. good luck!

Firstly, the certification does not guarantee the job. Second, you better contact your local PMI chapter. Third, you can start with entry-level PM positions or a position in the industry/company that you used to work.

Performing Project Management roles in a volunteer, non paid capacity is a great step to building a diversified project management portfolio of proven project delivery.

Checkout the following website (which i developed for this purpose) which structures volunteer opportunities as Projects.

www.SkilledAlly.org
You can access volunteer projects in technology, change management, people management and design projects. Projects are structured by defined objectives, milestones and deliverables.
Once completed you have a completed project delivered from the country of your choice.

Congrats for the initiative, M. Omorogie. A lot of talented people is needing opportunities for their development as well as looking to the engagement in volunteering which will help a lot other relevant purposes around the world. That's a mindset we need to spread out in these times post global pandemic. All the best in your personal and professional journey and success to the colleague, Mrs Bolden, in her pursuit of new horizons in PM universe.

Start searching for roles like Project Management Analyst or Project Management Coordinator. Being a volunteer in your Local Chapter is also a good form of acquiring experience.
