You need to both do agile and be agile - the latter is all well and good but if you lack the necessary technical acumen in the product/project domain, you won't get the desired outcomes.

It's a philosophy (way of thinking) under which a number of frameworks fall, such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Crystal, FDD, Dynamic, etc. The values and principles are embedded in the Agile Manifesto, but it is not by itself a methodology or framework. Saving Changes...
