Anyone got any views on the worth of a PgMP - I understand that knowledge is power but is the PgMP worth the time commitment or are we better off reading other material?

Thanks,
Rob

I have been researching the same thing, trying to decide whether PgMP is a credential that is widely-accepted or desired. It seems that there is not a real high demand for this yet in the market place (e.g. job boards). Since this is a relatively new credential, I have a feeling it will take a few more years to catch up as PMP did.

No doubt going through the process will help learn some things but is it worth $1,500 and time investment? That's a tough call.

What are your thoughts?

I took MSP (the equivalent from the same stable as PRINCE2) and found it a very useful qualification and course. It provided a really good overview of how to get a programme working well, tracking benefits, delivering value and most importantly coping with the uncertainty of programmes as distinct from projects.
MSP does not have an experience requirement like PgMP so employers are likely to consider it quite differently, but it is more established than PgMP, at least in the UK.
