Ethic is beyond project management. Mainly because most of the organizations where projects are running have a code of ethics in place.

Well, we all are members of many communities who all have a certain set of acceptable behaviors. And we are able to deal with those sometimes conflicting behavioral expectations, and sometimes run into contrasting expectations Conflicts of Interest (CoI).
Some of these expectations amount to ethical standards, codified or not.
I would expect an MD working for a pharmaceutical company to adhere to both his professional ethics and those of the company and also any other constraints to his work e.g. imposed by regulations.
So I would expect a PM adhering to a professional code he signed (PMI or IPMA or else) AND also the codes he faces by his employer or a client as well as laws and regulations. And openly sharing any CoI.

Certainly agree with you on that, but I don't want you to forget the fact that the ethics in question is in relation to project management, which a fact is a broad topic. Dear Bukola
I carefully read your definition of ethics: "Ethics is about making the best possible decisions
concerning people, resources, and the environment"
Honestly, I was wondering what it is about: "making the best possible decisions".
Ethics is so elastic these days that I end up not knowing what it is to make the best possible decisions.

Making the best possible decision involves you putting in some work for your ethical decision-making, I will highlight a few of these which include Identifying what the ethical issues are. Getting your fact right, Evaluate the alternative options and actions that you have, and lastly, try to implement your decisions and reflect on the outcome to be able to make the right and best decisions,
Also, you must be able to seek out resources such as professional guidelines and organizational policies, another approach you can use to get the best ethical decision-making is the Utilitarianism Approach, this approach helps to weigh the different amounts of good and bad that will be produced by your actions.
