In line with @Kiron´s comments above is good to know what you are refering to with standards. Usually standard is something to use as a point of reference to evaluate things mainly in the context of quality. Then, you can create your own standard to support your current process and strategy or you can take them from some which are created into different organizations that worked on that. In the case of project management you have a lot starting with the PMI (Project Management Institute). But, one interesting thing, is some of this organizations do not specify a format.
