This is a programme you have different specialties across different field onboard probably met or meeting you and you are to coordinate or manage the team for the execution or running the programme. And your profession is different from theirs and it's seen as not the known profession but the will and ability to run and execute it successfully is upon you which them know quite well. Then how do you break this resistance to change as a programme manager among the team members without undermining their profession which is their major fear?

This is a fairly common issue when you have a group of people who are not used to working in a cross-functional project team and with a project manager.

Take the time to understand their concerns and help them understand how the work on the project can help rather than hinder them.

If the concerns aren't significant, this can be addressed in an effective kick-off meeting but if there are certain very worried participants, you'd want to meet with them one-on-one and, depending on the power structure, engage their people managers in supporting you through this.

Yes, Mr. Bondale gave the ways in which you can be successful on that matters. Clear and supportive communication among the project members and executors is crucial to help engage everyone in an environment where the each other confidence and focus on goals prevail. All the best in your projects, pals.
