Hi folks! Wondering if anybody has a template or resources for conducting a Program Health Check? I'm familiar with project health checks and have tools for that but I can't seem to find something similar for Programs. I am 2 years into a 25 year Program and would like to conduct a health check. Thanks! Mike Saving Changes...

Mike,
I am using 7-keys-to--success, a IBM project health check they took over when they acquired PwC in the 2000s.
Applied it to programs, projects and Scrum with good results. Normally takes 1 hour to get the relevant data from an interview and 2-3 hours assessment and formulating recommendations.
A number of the same KPIs used to assess project health can be extrapolated to a program level, but two categories which are specific to programs relate to:
1. Benefits realization and forecast relative to original plan
2. Dependency management and health

Hi Thomas, Very nice presentation of IBM and makes sense for Programs. Agree with Kiron that benefits realization is key for programs. Though for programs in general, the objective would be to handle multiple related programs in a strategic way so that business case is justified (ROI) and benefit realization happens. Also, like what Thomas says from IBMs presentation, the other aspects that are important are stakeholder engagement, high performance team, governance etc. per the 7 keys to success.
