If my certification expired, do I need to re-take the test? Is there a grace period? I'm sure this information is available somewhere but haven't found it yet. Thanks for pointing me to the right place.

Check the handbook... my undestanding is if you let your certification expire, you will have to reapply, pay the fees and retake the exam.

According to the CCR handbook, if your credential expires, you have to reapply, pay the fees, and retake the exam to renew. It's just a couple of sentences on page 15 of the handbook. You can download the PDF here - https://www.pmi.org/certifications/certifi...maintain/renew.

I believe this info is available on PMI's website under the CCRS. Go to PMI website, under Certification then Maintain Your Certification.

If I am not mistaken, when your certification expires and you didn't accumulate the required PDUs for renewal, then PMI will suspend your credential for a period of 12 months during which you have to accumulate the required PDUs to renew the credential.

If the suspension period passes and you didn't manage to renew the credential, then you will lose the credential status and you wil have to go through the process from the start.

To add to Rami's feedback, if you want to get the full details, download the current CCR from https://www.pmi.org/-/media/pmi/documents/...ts-handbook.pdf
