I had a great time at the PMI Global Summit last week. Who else was there - what were your key takeaways?
For me:
(1) I was surprised at how much interest there was in Citizen development. The bookshop sold out of CD books completely, and the sessions on the topic were all well attended. Definitely a growth area...
(2) The Organizational Transformation Series (OTS) is also an interesting direction, with several talks touching on the career path from Project Manager to CTO
(3) High turnout from the PMO Community. In the past, there has been a dedicated PMO Symposium. This year everyone was under the same roof. Having one event for everyone made it easier to skip contexts and absorb content from the pure project management world and then switch context back to the organizational strategic focus that tends to be more relevant to PMO people.
What were your thoughts? Which talks did you attend that I should listen to on playback? Saving Changes...

I haven't attended but look forward to learning vicariously. Saving Changes...
What was the amount of coverage or visibility of Disciplined Agile at the conference? Given Scott & Mark left PMI a few months back, is the momentum still there from what you could see?
I was there!!! And was nice to met you face to face. I'm trying to hightlight the experience in 3 bullet points, lets see if I can make it:
1 - Diversity won. Diversity on the speakers, topics, industries represented, attendees...
First time in 3 years that there was a line in the women restroom!!! And there were a lot of restrooms in different floors. That maybe sounds funny, but really, last times there was always line in the men. When I join tech conferences, there is never line in the women restroom, love to see more women in conferences.
2 - Networking was elevated to another level. I've never seen that before, this time there were no small groups of people from the same company, the attendees were ready to create new connections, share breakfast with a new person or lunch on the floor with a different one.
I'm "one of those" enjoying the virtual enviroment, however this last conference teached me that the amount of rapport and relationship-building that can occur in a 10-minute in-person interaction took months for me in a virtual set up.
3 - Loved the idea of having the PMO leaders and PMO topics in the same conference. My challenge is that there were also LIM sessions, the one for chapter leaders and it was very hard for me to prepare the agenda as I was traveling with my chapter peers.
I plan to join virtual the sessions that I couldn't make it in person (due to limited capacity or other topics that I prefered to join in person). Saving Changes...
